Default Opening old 2003 spreadsheet in 2007

It takes more effort to retrieve my spreadsheets by using the alternative
method than using explore folder. I have many folders that contain
spreadsheet files, therefore I'm eager to find out when do you think the bug
fix for this will be resolved?

Thanks.
