When I place the cursor over a cell it highlights four cells vertically
instead of only one. It is problematic when I want to use the MERGE CELL command. How do I stop this from happening? |

Click on the area where the cells are automatically being highlighted, then use your arrows. Run the arrow up and down on those cells and click on your target cell. They should no longer be highlighting. This worked for me every time! |

I hope you have since found resolution for this issue. The auto highlighting feature shows up when you are working in "Page Layout" mode. Please make sure your document is in "Normal" mode. I've opened two documents from different people this week and had this maddening issue arise.
The fix is to change the document to "Normal" mode. Thanks! |
