Tony -
search in the help file for templates. What you will need to do is create a new file, empty except for the things you want to have 'standard' or default in your files. Once set up the way you want it, save it as a template. If you save it according to the help file instructions, you'll have the option to base new workbooks on your template when you choose FileNew "Tony" wrote: Does anyone know if you can set a default header, footer, and if you can set the gridlines to a specific color? everytime excel is opened by default? Thanks "Duke Carey" wrote: Tony - search in the help file for templates. Be careful what you ask for......you may get it<g If you want that workbook to automatically open when you start Excel, save it as a workbook, not a Template. Store it in your XLSTART folder and it will open when you start Excel. Note: if you open Excel by double-clicking on another *.xls file, you will get both files opening.
