Be careful what you ask for......you may get it<g
If you want that workbook to automatically open when you start Excel, save it
as a workbook, not a Template.
Store it in your XLSTART folder and it will open when you start Excel.
Note: if you open Excel by double-clicking on another *.xls file, you will get
both files opening.

Do you if there is a way to automatically have this template come up
everytime excel is opened by default? Thanks

Tony -
search in the help file for templates.
What you will need to do is create a new file, empty except for the things
you want to have 'standard' or default in your files. Once set up the way
you want it, save it as a template. If you save it according to the help
file instructions, you'll have the option to base new workbooks on your
template when you choose FileNew

Does anyone know if you can set a default header, footer, and if you can set
the gridlines to a specific color? Thanks in advance.
