Problem!
I have to use Excel at work to close our files. When I type our file number
in, such as 09-7129, as I tab through the field, Excel changes it to September-28! How do I get Excel to accept my numbers exactly as I type them in? Our closed files are like: 09-7129, 09-7130, 09-7131, etc. I can't have Excel changing these numbers! Thank you for your help! |

hi
this is excel being helpful. it can interpet your file numbers as dates, so it does. always helpful excel. to prevent this, you need to format you file numbers a text or preceed the entry with an appostrophe ie '09-7129. regards FSt1 "Robyn1757" wrote: I have to use Excel at work to close our files.
