cell address changes
Take a big breath, blow into paper bag. The panic is over!
In classical Excel (pre Excel 2007) use Tools | Options and open the General tab, locate the item "R1C1 Reference Style" and uncheck the box. In Excel 2007: click the Office tool (the colourful ball); at bottom of the next dialog click Excel Options; in the left-hand side click the Formulas tab; in "Working with Formulas: uncheck the "R1C1 Reference Style" box Now all will be well until you next open a workbook with this feature turned on - or someone in the office plays a prank! best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme Microsoft Excel MVP http://people.stfx.ca/bliengme remove caps from email "jnla" wrote in message ... please help! i went into a saved spreadsheet that i had already set up only to find that the cell address formatting had changed. columns are now numbered as well as the rows. this change was not made on all my spreadsheets. what's happening? -- jnla |
