Default Excel 2007 Column Limitations

I have saved a spreadsheet that I started in Excel 2003 in the new version.
It shows the spreadsheet is in "Compatability Mode" I cannot add columns
beyond column IV (Probably the 256 column limitation from the prior version).

Can I add more columns to this worksheet?

You'll need to save it as an Excel 2007 file, .xlsx, not .xls.
