Default Spell Check

Is it possible to conduct a spell check on unlocked cells in a protected
document?

Default Spell Check

In both classic and Excel 2007, when a worksheet is protected, the Spell
took is greyed out (unusable)
best wishes

Hi,

I just discovered you can create a macro that will temporarily disable the
protection and run spell check.

Default Spell Check

Note: tested on 2003 and 2007

Using a macro is the only work around that I know of.

Sub Spell_Check()
ActiveSheet.Unprotect Password:="justme"
Cells.CheckSpelling SpellLang:=1033
ActiveSheet.Protect Password:="justme", DrawingObjects:=True, _
Contents:=True, Scenarios:=True
End Sub

Unprotects the sheet, does the spellcheck then reprotects the sheet.

"justme" can be changed to your password.
