Hi all,

Is there any way to change system variable for author name so everytime I do
excel, the author name will always be my name.

Thanks but that doesn't work for Author of the file... Still the Author field
is empty in the file properties.

Tools|Options|General|UserName works for the "Last saved by" property.

Any other idea?

This will be applied for new workbooks. Once you set the Author; create a new
workbook through File|New|..and Save As...

Please note that if you try from Explorer| right click |New Excel ..the
author field will still be blank..

In xl2003 menus:

File|Properties|Summary tab
Change the author's name
Save the file
