I've used the Excel 2003 Data Validation Warning and Stop funcitions in the
past successfully. I have a new spreadsheet that is not providing a pop-up when the value is not from the list. The lists are on a separate worksheet within the same workbook. I am referencing the list by 'naming' the list and using '=namedlist' as the list source. The list does appear as a drop-down with the correct values. However, I can input any other value in the column. I have tried clearing and re-adding the error alerts. They still do not work. Can someone direct me on what might be the cause? -- DME |

Are you sure you haven't unchecked "show error alert after invalid data is
enterd"? Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Wed, 22 Apr 2009 14:26:01 -0700, DME777 wrote: I've used the Excel 2003 Data Validation Warning and Stop funcitions in the past successfully. Yes. I am sure. 'Show error alert' is checked.
