Default File Menu

Then there must be a add-in or workbook in XLStart that have code to disable this

Try to start Excel in Safe mode
Close Excel
Hold the Ctrl key when you open Excel
Say Yes in the Dialog to start in Safe mode

Do you see Save As now ?

Then I think your xlb file is corrupt

1) Close Excel
2) Do a search for .xlb in Windows (Use: search hidden files and folders)
3) Rename or delete the .xlb file or files (In 2002 the name = Excel10.xlb)
4) Start Excel

Deleting the file or renaming will do no harm to your system
Excel will create a new file for you. (You lost your customization remember that)
If you make your own toolbars or add buttons to the others
this file is important (backup it so you can restore it)

Hi Loree

You can reset the Worksheet Menu Bar
EditToolbars....Customize
Toolbars
Select Worksheet Menu Bar
Click on Reset

You can also use F12 to call the SaveAs dialog

My Excel File drop down File Menu is missing 'Save As' How do I get it back?

Ron, Thank you for your reply, but neither solution worked. Any other
suggestion worked.

Loree

Ron.
Thanks again, but this didn't work either. I had 22 .xlb files (11 dialog
and 11 script), one each in 11 different folders. I deleted all of the files
and started excel. When "Save As" still wasn't there, I closed everything
and restarted. Still nothing. I do have the original Microsoft Office 2003
disk if I need to reinstall the programs.
