Hello,
Could anyone tell me if you can run Excel 2002 and 2007 on the same PC without issues? Have any problems arisen with large file sizes in conjuction with the new row/column limits in 2007? And does anyone know if you can purchase just Excel 2007 without the rest of the suite? I think I'm finally done asking questions; thanks for any help you can offer! |

You can have both Excel 2002 and 2007 on the same machine. They must
be installed earliest to latest. During the setup process for 2007, ensure that you click the "Keep Previous Versions" option and that you change the installation directory to something different that the directory used by 2002. By default, the installer will install to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\..... Change the install directory to C:\Program Files\Office 2007 or something similar. Once you have 2007 installed, that will be the default program for all Excel files, so if you double-click an Excel file in a folder window, it will open in 2007 rather than 2002. Cottage6,
I don't think Excel is sold separately... At the minimum Excel, Word and Powerpoint need to be purchased. Chip, Is it really necessay to install somewhere other than C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office? I think installer makes directories like Office11, Office12 to keep the versions separate? More cost effective to buy the suite, but you can purchase it separately.
