Default Excel 2007-digit separator ',' for numbers/currency exceeding 999,

I am unable to display numbers larger than 999,999 with the digits separator.
Excel displays numbers as 1000,000.00 rather than 1,000,000. Is there a
problem with Excel 2007?

Hi Keith

I have no problem.
I just entered 1E+52 into a cell formatted as separate Thousands with commas
and two decimal places and I get
10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 ,000,000,000,000,000.00

I am using Vista 32 bit and XL2007 SP1

Check your Regional settings

No this is not an Excel 2007 problem. Is it possible that your Windows
Regional Setting are set to use Indian currency format?

Click a cell with the odd format; and then go into the Custom Format dialog
to see what it is set to?

best wishes

Thanks Roger. I changed the region to English( US) and the format now works
correctly. It was originally set to English (Trinidad ) and I believe there
is a formatting problem there... But I am good to go... Thanks again...
