You could use the Custom Format:
$#,##0.0"m" HTH Elkar "A" wrote: Hi Is there any way to format a number to 1 decimal place which includes the currency symbol at the start and text at the end eg m (for millions). eg £24.5m I want to change the format so that I can still add a list of numbers Regards Adrian |

How about formatting fractions. 5/32 is displayed as 11810 when you format to
fractions containing two digits eg 25/32 "A" wrote: Hi Is there any way to format a number to 1 decimal place which includes the currency symbol at the start and text at the end eg m (for millions). eg £24.5m I want to change the format so that I can still add a list of numbers Regards Adrian |

Forgot to request notification of a reply to my question of why formatting
fractions in excel 2007 such as "5/32" results in 11810. Excel dates count from 1 Jan 1900. 11810, if formatted as a date, is 1 May
1932. Excel has interpreted 5/32 as May 1932. -- David Biddulph "Don" wrote in message ...
