I have created a file in Excel 2007 that looks "nice and clean". When I open
the file in Excel 2000, the display completely changes. In v. 2007 I have merged cells, for example, so the final merged cell has enough words to take up two lines. When I open in v. 2000, the last couple of letters in the cell wrap down to the third line, so the top of the first line is cut off on the top. This is just one example of how the formatting has changed. In v. 2007, the column width is 11 pixels, but when I open in v. 2000 the column width is 10 pixels. I've tried to look into the pixel calculation, but none of that is helping to explain the display difference in my case. The odd thing is that both versions print the exact same thing. When I print the file in v. 2000 it looks just like the printout from v. 2007. I do not understand why the display on the screen is different. When I change the pixel width in v. 2000 to 11 pixels, then the display on the screen matches v. 2007, however the printout no longer matches - all of the information can no longer fit onto one sheet. Some people recommended changing the resolution, I already did this. I made sure the resolution was the same on both computers. I would like the diplay on the screen to match between both versions and I want the printout to match between both versions. Thank you so much, in advance, for helping! |
