Default Copying to a range

In the "New to EXCEL 2007" there is a reference to a "calculated column"
function new to EXCEL 2007, but absolutely no information on how to use that
function. I routinely copy formulas to a column, but dragging it through
hundreds of rows is clumsy. Older spreadsheet versions had a copy from..to
function where the user could enter ranges. Is that still available in 2007?
