How do I lock the color palette?
For the last few days the color palette on my Excel spreadsheets keep
changing colors on me even when I'm not doing anything to make it change. Is there a way to reset it to the standard palette and have it locked? (I tried the "Modify/Reset" button when I went to Tools - Options - Colors already.) |

How do I lock the color palette?
Hi,
There is no "lock" for the color palette. However, there is also nothing built into Excel that would change the colors on its own. If you already choose Tools, Options, Color, Reset and the colors are changing when you are doing nothing to make them change, it suggests there maybe a macro in your file which is doing it. You can check for macros if you are familiar with VBA or you can set the macro security level to Medium, close the file and reopen it. If you are prompted to enable macros, you have a macro. -- If this helps, please click the Yes button Cheers, Shane Devenshire "Venus" wrote: For the last few days the color palette on my Excel spreadsheets keep changing colors on me even when I'm not doing anything to make it change. How do I lock the color palette?
Hi Shane,
It doesn't look like there are any macros in the file -- I set the macro security level to medium and reopened it, and I wasn't prompted to enable any macros. And it's still doing it. Any other ideas? Thanks! Venus "Shane Devenshire" wrote: Hi, There is no "lock" for the color palette. However, there is also nothing built into Excel that would change the colors on its own.
