Default Excel Cell Color Problem

I too am having a problem with the colour pallet. I use a variety of
workbooks some created by myself and some supplied from other trusted sources
witin the same company, some of which contain many macros. Every now and then
a colour(color) will change to grey on the pallet spoiling my careful
formatting. I use Excel 2003. I am an experienced user and have never seen
this happen outside this company. Occasionally I will take work home with me
and use my excel version 2003 on my home computer. On other occasions the
colour will restore itself.
