Default Place holder text

Is it possible to enter place holder text that looks kind of like a
greyed-out watermark? For instance in one cell the user needs to enter the
name of a person. But there aren't any titles or field headers on this
spreadsheet, because this spreadsheet will be printed on a pre-printed
hardcopy that already has the word/title "NAME" printed on it. So I am trying
to give the user a clue as to what goes in each field, but I don't want that
clue printed out when the document is printed. Any ideas/suggestions on how
to accomplish this goal?

Think you could use data validation's input message

Select the cell(s), click Data Validation Input Message tab
Type the message in the box eg: Enter name
Click OK

The message will display when the cell is selected
