Default gridlines won't display

Perhaps you have borders around each cell using white lines. Click on
the intersection of the row and column identifiers to highlight every
cell, then on Format | Cells | Borders tab, and click None.

Hope this helps.

I converted a spreadsheet from Lotus 1-2-3 (release 5) to .xlw (Excel 4.0)
format by doing "save as xlw". When I opened it with Excel 2003 everything
was okay, except there were no gridlines.

In Tools/Options the gridlines box was checked. The background color for
cells was "no fill". I've tried saving it as Excel 2003 and reloading,
toggling the toos/options gridline box, and everything else I can think of,
but can't get gridlines to display.
