I have a workbook with a data tab and a results tab. In the data tab is a
list of IDs. The results tab takes each ID individually and uses a parameter web query and returns the table related to that ID from a particular webpage. Each time I open the workbook I plan on pasting a completely different set of IDs on the data tab. The results page is set up to look up the first 250 entries on the data tab, but often times the data tab has far fewer that 250 entries. For example if only 50 entries are made, Excel does not like that I have parameter queries set up that reference a blank cell. What can I do so that Excel does not have an issue with the blank cells? The error message reads "This Web query returned no data. To modify the query, click OK, click the name of the external data range in the name box on the formula bar, and then click Edit Query on the External Data toolbar." I am using the text editor to help me with a parameter query in Excel. Looks like WEB 1 http://website.com/page/id.aspx?id=["id","enter id:"] Selection =1 This is my first go around with parameter queries, and I have searched far and wide for a solution to this problem. Thanks for your expertise. |
