I cannot reproduce this when I make regional setting German (Austria) to get
comma for decimal maker. My TXT file opens in XL2007 the same as in XL2003 - as numbers best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme Microsoft Excel MVP http://people.stfx.ca/bliengme remove caps from email "tedmi" wrote in message ... Regional option is set to a locale where decimal symbol is the comma. When importing text data that has numbers with periods, XL '02 and '03 automatically convert the periods to commas, but '07 does not - as a result, the import is treated as text. Any workaround? -- TedMi |
