Default I type 30% but 30... shows in cell - why?

I have just cleaned my keyboard and now when I type in a % then click out of
the cell the % turns into three little dots ...
What have I done?????

It sounds like autocorrect is "helping" you.

In xl2003 menus:
Tools|autocorrect options|autocorrect tab

Look for that % and delete its entry.

ps. Those three little dots are called an ellipsis. And you may find that the
"..." string is autocorrected to a single character (the ellipsis character) in
that same autocorrect dialog.
