Default Password Protection

In excel i have locked certain cells in the spreadsheet as they were being
deletd. However, users cannot insert a comment in the unlocked cells. I am
using 2000 professional.

In the Tools|protect|protect worksheet dialog, there's a an option to protect
Objects. Make sure you leave that option unchecked.

But this affects all the objects (pictures/buttons/checkboxes, etc), too.
