i have a work book linked to another workbook each time i insert or delete a
line i have to reset all the links is there a way you can 'freeze' the links |

What do you mean by 'freeze'? If you do not want to link to the other file
anymore, then copy the whole sheet and choose EDIT|PASTE SPECIAL|VALUES to convert all links and formulas to the numbers they represent.
