i have a work book linked to another workbook each time i insert or delete a
line i have to reset all the links is there a way you can 'freeze' the links

What do you mean by 'freeze'? If you do not want to link to the other file
anymore, then copy the whole sheet and choose EDIT|PASTE SPECIAL|VALUES to
convert all links and formulas to the numbers they represent.
