Copying Excel 2007 data to external programs
Before being upgraded to Excel 2007, I could highlight 1 or multiple cells
and paste into another application (like Microsoft Project). With 2007 I can copy and paste inside Excel, but when I try to paste it into another application, it acts like the data was just blanks. If I click in the data bar in Excel and copy the data itself, I can then paste the cell into another application, but this takes much longer doing 1 cell of data at a time, especially if you are trying to copy an entire column. Anyone know what changed and how I can get around this issue? -- Cindy |

Copying Excel 2007 data to external programs
Hi,
I can't duplicate your problem copying from Excel 2007 to Word 2003, Project 2003 or Project 2007 or Word 2007. Please give us additional details. -- Thanks, Shane Devenshire "Cindy" wrote: Before being upgraded to Excel 2007, I could highlight 1 or multiple cells and paste into another application (like Microsoft Project). Copying Excel 2007 data to external programs
I copy 2 cells in Excel 2007, 1 each in a column next to each other (Columns
B & C, row 1). I go to Microsoft Project 2003, right click in the 1st cell and click Paste, it acts like it is writing data, but it doesn't write any data in the cells. If I go to the first cell in Excel, and highlight the first cell, then copy the data from the data input line (up below the toolbar/ribbon) and then right click on the 1st cell in Project, it copies the data in there as it should. The copy and paste does not work by just copying and pasting the cells, I have to grab the data from the input line below the toolbar/ribbon now. I am wondering if I need to change some type of formatting or something else to make it work now. -- Cindy "ShaneDevenshire" wrote: Hi, I can't duplicate your problem copying from Excel 2007 to Word 2003, Project 2003 or Project 2007 or Word 2007. Copying Excel 2007 data to external programs
I can save teh Excel 2007 file as an Excel 2003 file and the copy and paste
works fine. Is the difference between the ".XLS" and ".XLSX" file extensions causing the problem? The Excel 2007 file name ends with ".XLSX", where the saved as 2003 version ends with ".XLS". -- Cindy "ShaneDevenshire" wrote: Hi, I can't duplicate your problem copying from Excel 2007 to Word 2003, Project 2003 or Project 2007 or Word 2007.
