I must be having a "MOMENT" - Please help.
How would I be able to have a default label for the cell where I have placed a Data Validation Drop Down List? For example: Label = "Choose Sport" List contains: "Baseball, Basketball, Football, Soccer" Thank you! Brent |

In Data Validation go to Input Message tab
Enter, say, Choose Sport in the Title Then enter, say, Basebell, Football, etc in the Input Message box. Or, just put Choose Sport in the Input Message box. This doesn't seem to be addressing what I am seeking. Allow me to clarify.
When the cell that has DV is not selected, I am seeking a visible default title (for lack of proper terminology) that prompts users to select one of the choices listed in the DD list. Current, when I type "Choose Sport" as the Title (under 'Input Message tab) nothing appears in the intended DV cell when the cell is not selected. Only when I select the cell, does a separate text/comment, little yellow box pop-up that reflects the info I input into the 'Input Message' tab. I am sure I am confusing you all by now. I apologize if so. "Sean Timmons" wrote: In Data Validation go to Input Message tab Enter, say, Choose Sport in the Title Then enter, say, Basebell, Football, etc in the Input Message box. No, you're not confusing anyone.
You can't have a label in the cell with the dropdown. That's why I suggested the label in the cell above. Perhaps use a small callout from autoshapes from the drawing toolbar with text of "Choose Sport" and the arrow pointing to the DD cell? the other option is to have Choose a Sport as one of your options and select
it in the cell. But that means another person can pick Choose a Sport as their selection too... "Brent" wrote: This doesn't seem to be addressing what I am seeking. Allow me to clarify.
