When a figure becomes a minus in Excel can it be set to auto change color?
for example, if an account goes into "the red" how can I format the cell to change automatically. (or indeed if the figure reaches a set amount or target can Excel flag it up in another color?) Thank you. |

If you just wanted to show negative numbers in a different colour you
can use normal formatting for this - just choose the appropriate option from Format | Cells | Number tab | Currency - the second or 4th option uses red for negative amounts. If you want to change the colour if the value exceeds some amount, eg £100, then you would use Format | Conditional Formatting for this and set up the conditions in the dialogue box. Hope this helps.
