Default Password protecting file (modifying) with a slight twist

Hi all,

I've used 'Save As' 'Tools' 'General Options' and set a password to
modify. ONe slight issue that I have is that someone can open the file
read-only, then 'Save As' another filename and the password protection
disappears. Maybe there's another way?

Here's a little background: I have a master file that has the password
protection, and from this other copies are made for seperate projects. I need
each of these to also have the password protection as only a few people need
write access.... this isn't a problem if the file is copied/pasted via the
folder itself, but using 'Save As' gets around this.

Cheers for any help!
Marc

Go to Tools | Protection | Protect workbook | check structure options
| ok

Hi,

thanks for the reply. I've just tried this but I'm afraid it doesn't work.
The password protection still disappears when saved as a new filename.
