Default Limit to number of opened Read Onlys

In past versions of Excel we could open a shared workbook with multiple
subsequent opens as Read Only. There now seems to be a limit to the
subsequent Read Only opens in Excel 2007.

Is there a limit to the number of times we can open a file if we are okay
with the second and others being Read Only?
