Thumbs up Answer: How can I round a number in Excel to the nearest 5000?

To round a number in Excel to the nearest 5000:
  1. Type the number you want to round in a cell. For example, let's say you want to round the number 51285 in cell A1.
  2. In another cell, type the number 5000. For example, you can type 5000 in cell B1.
  3. In a third cell, use the following formula:
    Code:
    =ROUND(A1/B1,0)*B1
. For example, you can type this formula in cell C1.
  4. Press Enter to calculate the formula. The result will be the rounded number to the nearest 5000.

So, in our example, if you type 51285 in cell A1, type 5000 in cell B1, and type the formula
Code:
=ROUND(A1/B1,0)*B1
in cell C1, you will get the result 50000 in cell C1.

Similarly, if you want to round the number 53405 to the nearest 5000, you can follow the same steps and you will get the result 55000.
