I need to be able to open up new workbooks, using different windows

Default How do I open a workbook using a different window

If you use File/ Open (to open an existing workbook) or File/ New (to open a
new workbook), it will open it in a new window. If you want to switch
between windows, use the Window menu, and that menu also gives you the
option to arrange multiple windows if you want to see more than one at once.
