Excel 2000 shows the number of rows like this 100 of 1000 on the lower left
corner of the spreadsheet when sorting data. Can someone tell me where that
property is in Excel 2003?

I do believe you mean "filtering" rather "sorting"

If you don't see a filtered count at lower left you either have the Status
Bar disabled or have run up agaisnt one of the problems found at Debra
Dalgleish's site.

You're right I meant filtering. And I do have the status bar showing but not
showing the number of rows when I filter. I will go to the website you
suggested.
