Default Auto Filter Does Not Work

I am in Excel 2000 and can't get my autofilter to work on my spreadsheet.
The only option available is "advanced filter." Does anybody know why it is
not working?

Thanks.

Hi Michelle

Do you have Freeze panes switched on?
I can't remember whether it was after XL2000, or after XL97 when this was
fixed.
Try switching it off.

Roger,

Thanks. I tried your suggestion. It didn't work. If I copy the worksheet
into a new spreadsheet and save it, I don't have this issue anymore. Does
anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks.
