Pivot Table Range ("Database")
If you build a pivot table in Excel 97-2000 when a cell inside the database
you want to use is selected, the pivot wizard will assume that you want to use that whole database for your pivot table (without you having to specify the range) I'm now using 2003 and it won't do it anymore. Is there something wrong with my settings? Many thanks Helen |

Pivot Table Range ("Database")
I do not know of anything that changed with respect to how XL makes it best
guess at the intended range for pivot table source data. Normally if it is not selecting the correct data it is because there is some kind of ambiguity in the data that makes XL not understand what you want to do. Changes from text to number half way though and such can make XL not understand the source data... FYI the Pivot Table engine did change in XL2002 so pivot tables themselves are a bitt different starting with XP... -- HTH...
