Default Last saved date in footer

I am running Excel 2007. Did Microsoft gives us a way to automatically stamp
the header or footer with the last saved date (NOT the date every time the
file is opened), WITHOUT having to use VBA code yet? It seems like this is a
function that should be built in and readily available. Please help.
