I would like for a cell in sheet 1 of a workbook to track the contents of a
single cell on sheet 2 of the same workbook. |

Try this formula on sheet 1 or any other sheet to mirror what is in a1 of

What do you mean by "track the contents"?
You can enter =Sheet2!cellref into a cell on Sheet1 and as you change the source cell contents, the destination cell will change to match.
