Default Can't unhide left columns but can see them on print preview

I have column A through G hidden. I have attempted to unhide them
unsuccessfully (Format, Columns, Unhide). But Print Preview shows the
columns to still there. Column H is the farthest left column showing.
Nether the double headed arrow or the white bar between two black lines
appears when placing the cursor on the left of Column H. How do I reveal
columns A through G again? Thanks for your help.

Maybe they aren't hidden and they are just set to be very narrow.

Select them and then
Format|Column|Width
enter a value(say) 12 and click OK.
