Default Paste Special not working

Pasting between workbooks, instead of getting the paste special options (i.e.
all, formats, formulas, etc), instead I'm getting the paste/insert object
function.

But paste special options work okay in other workbooks, just this one
workbook.

Same results in Excel 2003 and Excel 2007 for same workbook.

How can I turn this back on to get the proper paste special functions

Nadine, do you remain in the same Excel application (=instance of the program)?

I do have 2 seperate sessions of Excel open so I can have one open on one
screen and the other on the other screen.

Unless there is another way I can run one session of excel but have 2
workbooks open one on each seperate monitors (using dual monitor display)

Okay, I see it works if I open both workbooks in the same instance of excel....

Do you know if there is a trick - when using dual monitor - to display the
workbooks on seperate screens, besides running 2 different excel sessions.
Excel 2007 or 2003

Thanks

If you're using multiple monitors, you may want to review Chip Pearson's notes:
