Default REMOVE CERTAIN LINES IN A PIVIOT TABLE

My worksheet is 350lines long and growing. i've created a pivoit table but
want certain lines to be ignored. e.g items that have been invoiced, or lines
that qualify a certain date range.
Is there a way of doing this?
All suggestions are greatfully welcome
