When I try to use the comment gox (both in Windows ME & XP), when it pops up
it has a user name in it. Is it possible to permanently delete the user
name from coming up each time? I know I can go in and edit it, but that
becomes a pain.

Thanks

Thanks for your help. However, I had already tried that and it works the
first time you are in Excel, but then the next time the name pops back up. It
isn't permanently deleted.
Any Ideas

That is odd because I took my name out years ago and it never came back, I'm
using XL2003.
Perhaps someone else can come up with a answer
Sorry I can't help you.

If you have no username entered, Excel will enter one for you......your login
name to be exact.

To not have one, simply type a <space in the dialog.

ToolsOptionsGeneral.

Delete the name in "user name" but you will still get the colon.

Or use a macro to insert a blank Comment.
