Default How do I open excel 2008 file

I don't have 2007 for testing but AFAIK you need the Pack to open a 2007
workbook in 2003 or earlier.

Don't what features are preserved.......browsing through the links on that page
could provide a few answers.

That's very interesting. I wonder how it handles functions that are present in
Excel 2007 but not in older versions.
