Default Pasting grouped information

I'm trying to paste grouped information that has been collapsed and I just
want to see the collapsed data. However it is expanding all the data. Is
there any way of just seeing the collapsed data only? I have tried all the
paste special options too.

Thanks,

Aidan

When I do this, it's usually with subtotals, but if you add a unique text to
your group lines (such as "Total"), you can add an autofilter and filter down
on your unique text. You can easily copy and paste filtered data without
getting all the lines in between.

Thanks Jason,
I think the problem may lie in the fact that data is linked in from other
spreadsheets but the person still wants just a snapshot of the collaped data
and the ability to expand it (copied into another sheet)

Thanks for your help.

Aidan.
