Network can be the issue sometimes. Try also to see what seet may be causing
the problem? I had one where they did a graph from a pivot table and the file was over 65mb. When I deleted the pivot chart sheet, it went down to 10mb. Sheets with lots of formula's or color that is done all the way down / across does not help. This is a hunt. be sure to "Save As" each time. " wrote: Don, I've tried deleting any extra rows and columns that may be increasing the file size previously. I am on a network, and I just tried to save and save as on the network and they both produced a several minute wait. It did however seem faster when I saved to my desktop. Any reason for this? Thanks Adam Bush "Don" wrote: I look forward to some of the responces. Check to see if you have unused space that is eating up room. Go to each sheet and see if Excel wants to show lines/rows past your data by looking at the scrool bars. Sometimes additional lines take up a ton of space when there is not realy anything there. Try to save as insted of save once you remove non data space When you are working on the sheet, you can choose Tool/Options/Calculation and click on Manual. Then when you want to calc, click F9. 20mb is large but not overly, are you on a network? see if you save to your hard drive insted and if the time is different? good luck " wrote: I've asked about this several times and apologize for asking again but I don't know what else to do. I have a 20,000 kb workbook that has several modules and worksheet applications. Everytime I use this sheet the first time I save it takes anywhere from 3-5 minutes. I've tried saving manually and as part of my module and the same thing happens. The hourglass appears and towards then end the workbook calculates cells. I've also tried this on several different computers and the same thing happens every time. Is there any reason this would consistently happen or anything I can do to stop it? Is there anything in Visual Basic (certain functions, types of code, etc.) that might cause this to happen? It is very troublesome since time is a factor with this workbook (it needs to act as intstantaneously as possible). Thanks in advance, Adam Bush |
