If I type (75) for minus 75 the number always appears -75 and not (75). Even
in 'Format cells' the brackets option for minus numbers is not an option. How can I show minus numbers in brackets? |

Create the format in the Format Cells window where you see the existing
options. On the Number tab, select Custom then in the box labelled "Type", type the format you want e.g. #,##0.00;(#,##0.00) will produce comma separated numbers with 2 decimals and minus in brackets. You could change the format of the cell, but if you want the ()'s to show up for
negative numbers in the format|cells|number tab, you'll have to change a windows setting. Windows start button|control panel regional and language options regional options tab click the customize button currency tab change the negative currency format to show ()'s. Thank you so much Dave. This is the best solution, which a friend also
suggested. Formatting the cells just didn't work; every time it just reverted to a minus sign.
