Default cell character restriction

Excel specifications states that you can have up to 32,767 characters in a cell,

However, only 1024 will show or be printed.

You can add an Alt + Enter linefeed every 100 or so characters to extend this
limit.

Also try dropping the font size down.

Merging two cells does not change the limit.

All you have is a larger cell with the same limits as a single cell.

I have excel 2003 and have noticed that a cell will only take so many
characters. They will show in the function bar but not on the spread sheet
itself. I have tried merging two cells to no avail. Is there a patch that
will fix this?
