Default Excel Chart Presentation

I have a chart from Excel but the labels do not fit in the available space
automatically allocated for that purpose by the program. Thus, the left edge
of the chart overlaps the labels. How do I resize the chart so as to give
more space for the labels?

Click in the middle of the chart, so the "plot area" is highlighted. Resize
this inner plot area as you would any rectangle, so it fits where you want
it.
