Default Apparent Formula Problem

Hoping someone can help with an apparent formula problem I'm having. I'm
working with a very simple spreadsheet showing different projects and their
monthly costs each month over the course of a year (cost figures cut and
paste from Microsoft Project)

I want to put a simple "sum" formula at the bottom of each month column to
add up all the costs for each month but when I put in the formula
(=SUM(B32:B79)) a green trianlge appears in the top left of the cell which
which tells me that the forumla omits adjacent cells (not sure what this
means), and I can't cut and paste the total figure to another sheet as it
pastes REF! I can click another option that lets me "update the formula to
include cells" but when I do this the total for each column that it gives me
is incorrect.

Does anyone have any idea how to rectify this.

Many thanks.

Default Apparent Formula Problem

I think that when you have pasted the monthly figures in from MS
Project they have come in as text values. Select a blank cell with a
General format and click <copy, then highlight all the offending
cells and click on Edit | Paste Special | Values (check) | Add (check)
| OK then <Esc. This should have turned them into proper numbers.

Hope this helps.
