Default How I auto fill a cell patern or color based on a pick list?

Hello,

Attempting to auto fill a cell with a color based on a selected word or
value in a pick list.

example: If selecting Tuesday the Cell would be blue, Monday the Cell
would be Yellow, etc..

Try Format / Conditional Formatting

Thanks Ken-hup

Apparently your only able to apply one conditional format to a cell. What
I'm trying to do is have a cell called day, if that cell value is Monday
it's pattern would be Blue, If Cell value = Tuesday then Green, etc.. It's
the same cell, just a different value and patern color I want to change
based on that value.

Thoughts?

Depending on which excel you are using, I currently am using 2003 -
Try this colour all cells one colour (e.g. Purple) select column go to
Format / Conditional formatting.
In box 1 Cell Value is
in box 2 equal to
in box 3 Monday
Select Format and choose colour (e.g Yellow)

Now click ADD to get another Condition repeat above etc...

If this doesn't give enough options I will think of an alternative
