Text to Columns Question

I am very familiar with using the Text to Columns feature but for some reason
every excel file i open or if I import a text file to an excel sheet, excel
is automatically texting to columns using "space" as a delimiter. How can i
make Excel stop auto formating these sheets when i open them?
